The goal of the activation system is to combat piracy and protect the interests of legitimate customers. An activation wizard is available which will walk you through the simple process of activating your registration key. You can activate in a fully automated fashion or manually if you prefer. The process takes only a few seconds. Activation verifies that the key you are using is legitimate. It also ties your registration information to your computer using the MAC address of your Network Interface Card making it difficult for others to illegally use your registration key. No personal information about you is required or transmitted. Reactivation is required only if you change out your Network card. The 'Help | Activate your Alt-N software' menu selection leads to the Activation Wizard should you need to do this in the future. Multiple activations are allowed however this is for customer convenience only and should not be considered license to violate the EULA. Registered users have 30 days in which to activate. Activation is required in order for Alt-N products to function. For a more detailed description of activation see: http://www.altn.com/Activation/faq.asp. MAJOR NEW FEATURES Added support for SSL/TLS in SMTP and POP3 T.38 FAX OVER IP Relayfax now supports up to 3 virtual fax devices that can logon to a SIP-based software PBX. To add a T.38 device, double click on the "Manual add" icon in the tool window under "Fax devices". Then change the modem type to "SIP (T.38) Channel". After creating the device, double click on the new modem icon to access the new properties page: SIP Account Server: Host name or IP address of SIP-based software PBX. If the server port is not 5060, then a colon and the port number can be appended. Account: The SIP account name or extension Authentication UserName: Username for authentication Password: Password for authentication Network IP Address: This is the local IP address as seen by the SIP Server. If RelayFax is behind a NAT firewall, then this will be the external address of the NAT firewall and the following 2 UDP ports must be open and forwarding to RelayFax. SIP Port: Local SIP port (default is 5060). Must be unique for each SIP device. RTP Port: Local port used for RTP and T.38 protocol (default is 8000). Must be unique for each SIP device. Notes RelayFax supports T.38 fax relay using UDPTL protocol, but does not support T.38 pass through, where the fax is sent over a VOIP call encoded as audio using RTP. Because of this: In the 3CX Phonesystem, the "PBX delivers audio" option must be disabled. In FreeSWITCH the bypass media option must be enabled. A VOIP gateway is required to exchange T.38 faxes with traditional audio-based fax equipment.
